Using the Connect object
This tutorial will help you understand how to use the Connect Object to connect different objects in your scene so they blend in smoothly. This method is much better then using Boolean because it gives a much better result (polygon wise) and you can apply MeshSmooth Modifier afterwards, without getting weird results. It can be very useful in attaching perfectly round geometry to a square/rectangular surface.
